We finished the parfait, left the aquarium, and moved to the next destination — Eiga-no-Sato in Uzumasa, Ukyō Ward.
Eiga-no-Sato is a theme park built around period-drama film sets — also has attractions, full day’s content. The bus ride took a bit; we paid and entered.
“It’s like we stepped back into the Edo period.”
“This is a lot like that place we went to after the open campus.”
“Right — this hits the same notes as the Kurashiki Bikan Quarter.”
“That was about a month ago. Time moves fast.”
Bikan preserves actual Edo-and-Meiji-period townscape; here, it’s recreated. Different concept, similar feel.
“Per plan — let’s get period costumes.”
“Right, Riona, decided yours?”
“Was struggling, now decided. Nee-chan, yours?”
“Decided.”
Eiga-no-Sato rents period-drama costumes. Riona had insisted on it.
“I’ll change. Meet here when done.”
“Mm-hmm, looking forward to seeing your costume, Ryouya-kun.”
“Look forward to mine and Nee-chan’s.”
We went in and told the staff what we’d be wearing, then each got dressed in separate rooms. My pick: Hijikata Toshizō from the Shinsengumi.
I had no particular attachment to Hijikata Toshizō; I just liked how the costume looked. Cool factor.
I got dressed and waited a bit; Riona came out first. She’d picked a ninja costume — very suited.
